We met up with Ryan and Robin at the Stony Creek Metro Park for their Rochester Hills engagement session and had so much fun. We loved the location because of the giant row of pines that looked so pretty against the white snow. The Park is such a good spot for engagement photos we were so happy to stumble upon it while scouting out locations earlier this fall. We are so thrilled to be documenting Ryan and Robin’s Rochester Hills engagement session and their upcoming Michigan wedding. We actually got to photograph Ryan’s surprise proposal last fall and it was so sweet. Ryan gathered all of their family and closest friends in downtown Fenton Michigan where he had purchased balloons for each one of them to hold. The balloons were letters that spelled out the big question – Will you marry me? His family and friends stood on a bridge that overlooked the river where he led a very unsuspecting Robin. He asked her to turn around and that’s when she saw her nearest and dearest holding the marry me balloons. When she turned back around Ryan was on one knee. As you may have already concluded- she said yes.

I have had the honor of knowing Ryan since I was twelve and I honestly couldn’t picture someone that compliments him as well as Robin does. They love each other with such a genuine and deep love that is evident even in their photographs. This is an element that is so important to us when trying to tell a story of two people through imagery and typically we have to work a little harder to pull that emotion out of people, but with these two it was naturally there. We are already looking forward to their Michigan fall wedding which I am sure will be incredible. Congratulations Ryan and Robin! The next time we will see you it will be at the alter!
