The San Francisco city hall acted as the perfect backdrop for Jana and Eli’s anniversary session. The SF city hall is a gorgeous building filled with ornate details that make you feel like you stepped into a different era. When you walk in you are treated to elaborate stucco walls, gorgeous marble flooring and a view of all three stories. Its dome rises 307.5 ft. Not to mention the massive marble staircase that is so breathtaking. It is an incredible space and I could hardly believe we were free to roam where we pleased for our session. Jana and Eli have been married for three years now and are living in beautiful Sonoma County. Jana is also a photographer which made directing and posing so fun and laid back as she had many ideas of her own. We started near the grand staircase and made our way up to the third floor of the hall. Immediately I noticed how different is was to photograph a couple that had been married for years as opposed to a newly engaged couple. The level of comfort Jana and Eli had together was amazing. You could tell these were two people who not only were in love but who had been through trials together, shared the good and the bad and were closer because of it. They are best friends and that chemistry shows in their photos. I definitely wouldn’t be opposed to more shoots in the San Francisco City Hall and with such an amazing couple.
Here’s their super cute love story:
Eli and I meet in 2009 in a little white church. I had seen him performing with his band on stage for a couple months now and had been hoping he would finally notice me. Thankfully that night his friend introduced us after he got done playing his set. We immediately hit it off. We talked for the rest of the concert and then when I got home continued to talk over Facebook. Our first date was at yogurt farms. We talked for over six hours and it was during that time that we shared with each other our passions, hopes, and goals. Two months after this date Eli asked me to become his girlfriend the week of Valentine’s Day.
Fast forward 4 years to July of 2013. Eli took me to Rodeo Beach in Marin which looks out to the Golden Gate Bridge. He took my hand and told me he had to show me the view. Little did I know he would get down on one knee. That day he told me how much he loved me and I said yes to spending the rest of my life with him. That day was the best day of my life. We spent the day on cloud 9 exploring San Fransisco and being just madly in love with each other.
In April of 2014, Eli and I got married in front of a lake with willow trees surrounding us. We celebrated with friends and family. We had the best day ever that day! However, we enjoyed our trip to Maui even more!
Fast forward to today. Eli and I are celebrating our three year anniversary next month. Eli is patient, kind, loving and has such a wonderful heart for the Lord. He has taught me how to love more and serve others with all of my heart. He has taken care of me when I have gone through surgeries and battled with my chronic illness. I truly am thankful for God giving me him as my husband.
